Welcome JRH Care (Derby)

Welcome to JRH Care which has been created to promote a better care service for the people of Derbyshire living in the rural areas of the county as well as those in and around Derby City. Watch the BBC Panorama Special - Britain's Homecare Scandal broadcasted on 9th April 2009.

Why care?

The reason for wanting to do something about homecare is simple.

My name is Jacqui Hinton and I am not in the care business. I am just someone who is willing to try and use all the skills and experience I have to ask those people who feel the same as I do to come forward and join me.

Through a terrible insight over the last few years of losing my Mother I want to help others, facing similar problems and concerns, to address the balance of choice available to those who want to stay in their own homes.

At the moment whatever you pay, the care services are poor, not available in rural areas with quality and respect not the order of the day. My Mother hated being old and needing help. That has got to be wrong in this day and age!

Before she died, I decided to try and do something about the care racket in this country. She died aged 90 at the start of this year. In the last few months of her life she did have good, sensitive and dedicated carers. However, it was pitiful to watch the chain of tragic events which ended in her being carried out of her home by the funeral directors past equipment which had only been delivered, following my demands, to her home a matter of days before she died, in more pain and without the dignity she deserved.

The Ultimate Outcome

I would like to form a unique small homecare association of like minded people who want to take on, with myself, a practical "hands on" approach to address the problems of the current home care system for the elderly of Derbyshire.

To ensure the campaign issues are met, self employment will be the order of the day and being able to be at that level is what is required.

There can be no place or point in resembling the so called care business, you can turn way and just talk about what should or could be done or you can join forces with me.

There are good opportunities for prospective team members to work together for that much needed change, and as for being your own boss, it was the best move I ever made in 2000.

This website has been set-up in memory of my late Mother.
